New Delhi : Several Air India international flights may be delayed from Thursday as the cabin crew have threatened not to work beyond the duty hours stipulated in their contracts.
If a flight is delayed and the total travel time is beyond the number of hours stipulated in the contracts of cabin crew, there will be some flight disruptions as cabin crew may not work for those additional hours.
“The management committee has decided to strictly adhere to all bilateral agreements on flight time, duty time limitations and all other bilateral agreements applicable to workmen,” said Sanjay Lazar, general secretary of AICCA.
“If the flight is delayed, we will not extend any courtesies to the company as we see a huge list of issues that the company has not resolved,” Lazar said.
The union said it was protesting against the “general misadministration” of the company. According to it, there are some wage arrears pending from 1997 and the pre-merger time bound promotion policy has been pending only for the cabin crew.
